BAIHUI

BAIHUI

Meaning

Bai, hundred; hui, meeting.

The point is at the vertex and is a meeting place of the three Foot-Yang Meridians, the Liver Meridian and the Governor Vessel.

Location

7 cun directly above the midpoint of the posterior hairline.

Indication

1. main point to treat dizziness (acupuncture for Excessive syndrome and moxibustion for Deficiency syndrome)

2. main point to treat diseases fo the brain: cerebral apoplexy, epilepsy, various kinds of headache.

3. prolapse of rectum or uterus

4. neurasthenia, faintness, insomnia.

Method

1. puncture horizontally 0.5-0.8 cun

2. The direction of the tip may change according to the area of the headache. Puncture horizontally backwards is most common

Remarks

Main point for dissipating wind and raising Yang.
