The auricle veins all start from the superficial layer of skin. The dense vascular net gathers into trunk, going along with the same name’s artery. Human auricle vein have great individual difference. But the common lures are: the veins at both front and back auricle all start from the derma, gradually gather into 3-5small trunks, then influx in the superficial temporal vein , which is the main drainage blood vessel. The three small dependent branches of the posterior auricular veins go with the poaterior auricular arteries . They are not the main blood drainage veins of the auricle. Some of the small veins at the posterior auricle anastomosis with the scalp vein and converge into the scalp venous branch. At Helix there are bigger communi cating branches of veins linking up the veins at upper and lower portion of auricle to  from a circle.

The posterior auricular veins sometimes connect with the sigmoid sinus through the mastoid emissary veins. Therefore auricular infection could cause the intra-cranial infection, whick should be fully realized practice in ear acupuncture.
