Chongyang (ST 42) : Yuan (source) point

[Location]  At the highest point of the dorsum of the foot, between the tendons of m. extensor hallucis longus and digitorum longus, where the dorsal artery of the foot pulsates.

[Needing and Moxibustion Method]

Avoid the foot artery , perpendicular insertion 0.2~0.3 cun, moxibustion is appliacable.

[Indications]

Gastric pain,  abdominal distention, anorexy, facial distortion, facial swelling, toothache, weakness of the foot, welling of the dorsum of the foot, manic disorder.

[Common compatibility]

(1)    foot weakness — with zusanli, pucan, feiyang.

(2)    Manic disorder—with fenglong.
