3 Jianyu (LI15)

[Location] When the arm is abducted 90 laterally of forward, the point is on m.deltoideus of the shoulder, in the depression of the anterior superior portion of the shoulder.

[Needling and Moxibustion Method] Perpendicular insertion 0.5~1.5cun; moxibustion is applicable.

[Indications] pain in the arm and shoulder, spasm of the hand and arm, heat in the shoulder, hemiparalysis, wind-head rubella, scrofula.

[Common compatibility]

(1) periarthritis of shoulder—-with Jianliao, Jianzhen,Naoshu.

(2) paralysis, of the upper limbs—-with Quchi, Waiguan, Hegu.

(3) rubella—-with Yangxi.
