Sanjian(LI3): Shu(stream) point

[ Location ] When a loose first is made, this point is on the radial side of the index finger, in the depression proximal to the metacarpo-phalangeal joint.

[ Needing and Moxibustion Method ] Perpendicular insertion 0.3~0.5 cun, Moxibustion is applicable.

[ Indications ] Eye pain, toothache, sore throat, nasal bleeding, dry lip and mouth, pain and swelling of the finger and dorsal hand, pain in the arm, shoulder and back, addict to sleep, abdominal distention, rugitus and diarrhea, malaria.

[ Common compatibility ]

(1)    toothache—with Hegu.

(2)    Sore throat—with Shaoshang.

(3)    Acute pain in the eye—with Qiangu.
