Shangyang(LI1):JING.(well) point

[ Location ]  On the  radial side of the distal phalanx of the index finger, 0.1 cun distance from the corner of the nail.

[ Needing and Moxibustion Method ] Shallow insertion 0.1 cun, or prick the point to make it bleeded; moxibustion  is applicable.

[ Indications ] sore throat , cheek swelling ,lower toothache, shoulder pain to quepen, numbness of the index finger, deafness, tinnitus,glaucoma, febrile disease without sweat, fainting, coma from apoplexy, cough and asthma.

[ Common compatibility ]

(1)       apoplexy, heatstroke—with Shaoshang, Guanchong, Zhongchong.

(2)       Sore throat, redness, pain and swelling of the eye-with Hegu, Shaoshang.

(3)       Febrile disease without sweat—with Hegu, Yanggu, xiaxi, Lidui, Laogong, Wangu
