Formation of blood: Blood is the one of the fundamental substances to constitute the human body and maintain the activities of the life. It is chiefly composed of nutritional qi and jinye (body fluids) which are the refined essence of foods and are transported into red fluids, i.e., blood, after they enter into the vessels. The formation of blood is mainly related to the two aspects: one is that the spleen and stomach are the source of transforming qi and blood; the other is that jing (essence) and blood are mutually generated.
